Terms of Service
Last updated September 24, 2026
These terms cover your use of Linky Hoop (“we”, “us”), a website that turns pictures into machine embroidery stitch files. By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
What the service does
You give us an image (or describe one), and we turn it into stitch files for embroidery machines in the formats offered on the site: PES, DST, EXP, JEF, XXX and VP3. Uploading, previewing, resizing and recoloring a design is free. Downloading the finished file may cost money. The price is shown before you pay.
Your images and your rights
- Only upload images you made, own, or have permission to turn into embroidery. Logos, characters and artwork belong to their creators, and making a stitch file from them doesn’t change that.
- Don’t upload anything unlawful, abusive or hateful, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
- We don’t claim ownership of your images or of the files we make from them.
- You are responsible for how you use the finished files, including making sure you’re entitled to sell items stitched from the artwork.
AI-generated designs
When the “describe it” feature is available, the words you type are sent to an AI image service (OpenAI) to create a picture, which we then turn into a stitch file. AI results can be unpredictable and may resemble existing artwork. We can’t promise they’re free of anyone else’s rights, so check before you use one commercially. We may refuse descriptions that break the image service’s content rules, and the number of free tries may be limited.
The same goes for “Convert to Clip Art (AI)”: the photo you choose is sent to OpenAI, which draws a clip-art version of it, and we turn that drawing into a stitch file. Only use photos you took or have permission to use, and only of people who are happy for them to be used this way. The drawing is a new picture based on your photo. It may not look exactly like the original, and we can’t promise it is free of anyone else’s rights. We may refuse photos that break the image service’s content rules.
Using the files you get
Once you’ve downloaded a file you may use it to stitch items for yourself or for others, including items you sell, provided you have the right to the artwork it came from. Please don’t resell or share the stitch files themselves as stand-alone designs unless you own or license the artwork.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. Sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout depending on where you are.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe may act as the seller of record for your purchase and send your receipt.
- We may change our prices at any time. A change never affects a purchase you’ve already made.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
How long your design is available
To keep your images private we don’t store them. A design you’re only previewing is kept in memory for about 30 minutes after it’s made, so download it in that time. Once you’ve paid for a design it’s saved for 30 days, and you can download it again, in any file type, from the link we give you. After that it’s deleted and you’d need to make it again. If you sign in to My designs with the email you paid with, we keep your designs for 365 days from each time you sign in instead. If you paid and couldn’t download because of a problem on our side, see the refund policy.
Machines, fabric and test stitching
Embroidery depends on your machine, hoop, fabric, stabilizer and thread, none of which we control, so we can’t promise a file will stitch perfectly in every situation. We have tested our Brother PES files on a real Brother machine. The other formats are written by a standard embroidery library following the published file formats, but haven’t been tried on every machine. Always sew a test on scrap fabric before your final piece.
Fair use of the site
Please don’t try to overload or disrupt the site, use bots or scripts to make designs in bulk, get around the limits or the payment step, or interfere with anyone else’s use of it.
No warranty, and limits on our liability
The site and its files are provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as ruined garments, thread, stabilizer or machine time, lost sales or lost profit, and our total liability for anything connected with a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits any right you have under the law that can’t be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
