About me

Vanessa, the owner of LinkyHoop, smiling beside Linky, a golden retriever, outdoors in front of a door.

Hi! My name is Vanessa, and I’m the owner of LinkyHoop.

I’ve loved sewing and crafting since I was young as my grandma and my mom got me started. In 4th grade I took my first real sewing class at JoAnn Fabrics and was hooked! I made pillowcases and zipper bags, sewed up holes in stuffed animals, and tried anything I could get my hands on.

Sewing has always stayed a hobby for me, and over the years I added in other crafting adventures such as DIY projects and using a Cricut, but recently, embroidery has brought my love of sewing back to life.

Why I made LinkyHoop

When I started embroidering, I had a hard time turning the images I created into stitch files. There was nothing quick and easy for a hobbyist. It meant expensive software, finding someone to digitize the design by hand and waiting for it to come back (when I want to make a design, I want to make it now!), learning a program that isn’t intuitive, or paying a subscription.

I created LinkyHoop to help hobbyists bring their designs to life and get to the fun part: making the finished product.

I am married to my amazing husband, John, who helps with my crafting from time to time and we have one daughter and a dog, Lincoln “Linky” Bark.

I hope you find this site as useful as I have in your digitizing adventures. Please reach out with any feedback, suggestions, or requests for the site. I’m so happy you’re here to create with me 🙂
